We wanted to provide an update on the fraud activity we have been informed is affecting banks and credit unions across the country, including a few members here at LAPFCU.
First, we are working closely with all related parties to ensure we protect our members, and no member who promptly notifies the Credit Union of fraudulent activity will incur any losses from this activity.
Authorities are investigating a situation in which debit card numbers are being used fraudulently within certain states. This has required us to monitor and in some cases suspend certain activities tied to the use of our QuickDraw Plus debit card as a “credit” card within some states. If you have a QuickDraw Plus debit card, you may continue to use your card at ATMs or other venues using your personal identification number (PIN). We also encourage members to monitor their statements and card activity closely for any suspicious charges.
