Donation Accounts Opened

Donation Accounts Opened To Assist Families of Officer Randal Simmons and Officer James Veenstra


(Van Nuys, CA, Feb. 7, 2008) - In response to the shootings of Officer Randal Simmons and Officer James Veenstra, Los Angeles Police Federal Credit Union (LAPFCU) has opened Donation Accounts to support the needs of their families. During a Feb. 7 SWAT incident, Simmons died and Veenstra was badly injured.

"We at the Credit Union express our sincere condolences to the family of Officer Simmons and our best wishes go out to Officer Veenstra and his family," stated G. Michael Padgett, LAPFCU President and CEO. "The funds collected for these donation accounts will go to address the needs of their families."

There are a few ways in which interested parties may contribute:

For Officer Simmons, please enter account #2030077 S4.12 followed by BLU (first three letters of the account name). For Officer Veenstra, please enter account #2030077 S4.13 followed by BLU (first three letters of the account name).

  • Those who wish to make contributions may also contact the Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation at (213) 847-4239 which has been established to pay for funeral costs and create college funds for families of officers killed in the line of duty.
